Summer comes to an end and the big brands are preparing for the end of the year. LG kept a low profile in the IFA last while the rest of the competitors showed their best cards, however this does not mean that South Koreans have not been working, since after several tracks and one that another rumor, we finally have all details of the new LG V20.
The new high-end LG complements the family of devices under a focus on innovation by incorporating two screens, two rear cameras, Quad DAC 32 – bit Hi-Fi sound and a metal body approach. We know all the details of LG V20.
Two screens as hallmark
We knew well that the LG V20 would be a strong bet for the manufacturer, more after the problems with the G5, so the company has not skimped on features for this new V20 is able to stand up to its competitors.
Seeing your spec sheet we find a screen 5.7-inch LCD (Quantum IPS) with QHD resolution (2560 x 1440 pixels) for a total density of 513 dpi; the second screen is renewed and consolidated as the main characteristic of this family that this time is 2.1 inches with 160 x 1040 resolution, which doubles in brightness and size of typeface with respect to V10.
The LG V20 is powered by Snapdragon 820 processor 2,15GHz, with 4GB RAM and 64GB LPDDR4 storage expandable to 2TB via microSD. We also have a battery of 3200mAh, which can be extracted and rapid charging system Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0.
The first smartphone with Android 7.0 commercial Nougat
One of the most attractive features of LG V20 is that it is the first smartphone, the Nexus outside, to have Android 7.0 Nougat direct factory. Of course, we should mention that we will find the layer of customization LG UX 5.0+, which integrates functions that seek to exploit the possibilities of the smartphone.
On the other hand, the V20 is the first to incorporate Google In Apps, an experience that extends the search not only integrated applications, but also to those installed by the user in order to have a search more detail of what we have available in the device.
Metal body and certified to withstand drops
LG wanted to experiment with new materials in V20, so we find that the back of the terminal, where we also have the fingerprint sensor is of aluminum AL6013, an alloy used in aircraft, boats and mountain bikes; while the corners pollinator incorporate silicone (Si-PC), a material used in the manufacture of helmets.
This combination makes the LG V20 has passed drop tests MIL-STD 810G, a standard used in the military industry that tells us that the smartphone is able to withstand multiple drops to a maximum height of 1.22 meters, this regardless landing with the front, rear, side or corner part.

Focused on the photographic experience
With the V10 we saw as priority was given to the possibility of using the camera under manual controls, plus several functions that allow us to exploit the capabilities of the front – facing cameras; now with the V20 that philosophy is maintained and much of what we saw on the G5 with adapted rear dual camera.
This time we have a front 5-megapixel camera with auto-shot, aperture f / 1.9 wide-angle lens 120 degree seeks to open the scene to have a wider field of capture. While in the back we find an 8 megapixel camera with f / 2.4 lens and 135 degrees and a second sensor 16 megapixel camera with f / 1.8 lens and 75 degrees, allowing us to play with the possibilities to change them or combine them.
The main cameras integrate technology auto focusing hybrid by three mechanisms: laser detection, phase detection and contrast, allowing for quick shots automatically, or switch to manual mode and play with the controls in order to have different results depending conditions.
Note that use of the Steady Record 2.0 Qualcomm technology is made for video capture is as stable as possible, plus audio recording will be made under a format of 24-bit / 48 kHz Linear Pulse Code Modulation ( LPCM), the same used in some professional video equipment.
The protagonist audio
Another feature we already knew the V10 and improved for this version is the commitment to an experience of pure audio, since they treat the first smartphone to mount a Quad DAC 32-bit manufactured by ESS Technology, which will provide us a clear and vivid sound that approaches the live sound experience. This sound is generated than a traditional DAC because it can reduce up to 50% ambient sound.
The V20 will support music files without loss of quality as FLAC, DSD, AIFF and ALAC are, however, no alliance mentioned with some headsets, nor was talk that the V20 include special headphones that allow enjoy this audio quality in all its glory.
